The conference was overlooked and shafted for a long time. I think it culminated with the undefeated Auburn team sitting on the sidelines during the National Championship game while two teams with far inferior resumes played to see who was second best.

This! That's why I cheer for the conference. It benefits us all. Auburn got fricked that yr. I really think that slap in the face is what really started it. I don't remember it much before that.
