According to the rules that have been being enforced this year....
1. he lead with this shoulder
2. He hit him high
3. intentional or not, there was helmet to helmet contact. (facemask counts)
While I do not agree with it, according to current rules and enforcement, this is a flaggable hit.
As to the title of the thread, is it a DIRTY hit?
Absolutely not. A dirty hit would denote an intent to hurt someone, which I do not see in this play. I see a defensive player laying the wood to a QB like players have been trained to do for 80 years.
