Hypothetical I was thinking about this morning re: the 2008 season

If you could alter history, pick one of the 3 games we lost that year to make a win. There are a few stipulations. First, the game that you pick for us to win the final score will be fairly normal, say 17-14, so you can't just pick us to win 100-0. This is the biggie though..if you pick the UF game, assume (I know this wouldn't happen, but hell this is hypothetical anyway) that UF would still go on to win the east and play for the SEC. The only reason I throw that in there is because if we beat UF, we would have won the east, making that game a fairly obvious choice to change just because we'd have a chance at the SEC. We would still play MSU in the capital one bowl in this hypothetical. Your choices:
Alabama (real result, 30-41)
pros:
-Richt would be 4-0 (in 2008, obviously) against alabama
-we wouldn't hear any stupid blackout crap, and would be 3-0 in black
-might slow down the saban train, although only slightly, seeing as 2008 was his first big year there
-would possibly reclaim the #1 ranking
-would go down as one of the best atmospheres ever at Sanford
cons:
-would make our fall from grace that much worse when we get shellacked by UF
Florida (real result, 10-49)
pros:
-no urban meyer timeout BS
-back to back wins over UF, making 4-2 in the last 6 years (up to 2012)
-would take us up pretty good in the rankings
cons:
-none really, aside from having those embarrassing bama and tech losses still there
Tech (real result, 42-45)
pros:
-nice bump in the polls winning out after UF
-richt is 12-0 against gt
-we demolish the all time record in the series for consecutive wins
-it's tech
cons:
-none really
I would imagine the consensus will be split between uf and tech, but I know some people here can't stand bama and would love to erase that game from memory.

Could the games change in sort of a chain of reaction type deal? Say we beat Alabama in the blackout game. That does HUGE things did our confidence. I know it doesn't mask the shitty o line play or our injuries but it could of sparked us to a point where we weren't questioning our legitimacy like the Florida game. If we come back against Alabama there's a great chance we recover against Florida because they would have that game in their minds and knowing they could come from behind.
But to answer your original I think I would go with the blackout. It would have been sweet to keep tech from winning that one but it hasn't altered the course of the rivalry as we have seen. You gotta pick the blackout for the reasons you stated above.

I'll go with the Blackout game. I get tired of all the lame jokes. Not the mention Saban would not have had his first signature win against us.

No, because then you could easily say "well if we beat bama we're undefeated and confident, then we could possibly knock off UF. Then if we're undefeated there's no way we lose to tech". It's just too much.

Interesting, so so far after 2 responses both have said bama. I figured uf/tech would be shoo ins for the most popular answer.

Why that one over the other 2?

The Tech loss doesn't bother me that much tbh. Probably because they are a shite storm right now. Also since we've beaten UF two years in a row I'll take the Blackout game. If you had asked me in 09 I probably would have Tech.

Because the hate burns in my heart with the heat of a thousand suns for them.

But to answer your question, we don't recruit against Tech and Bama is not in our division.

Blackout game. Easily. Just because of the crap we've sustained about it over the years.
Closer to 2008, I'd say UF.

90% of the time my posts are pretty heavy leaning Disney. Just something I was thinking about and wanted to get opinions.
