An Ole Miss fan edited the Mike Slive Wikipedia page under "Controversy." They even went as far as getting the administrators of Wikipedia to let it stand. I think this is hilarious.

I have to admit that Slive did exhibit some serious hypocrisy in that case, especially considering that he failed to suspend a Vandy player in the SC-Vandy game that lead with his head on Justice Cunningham, and was flagged for a flagrant foul, yet he did not suspend the Vandy player.

Then, when DJ Swearinger led with his shoulder, as the replay clearly showed, against an ECU player the following week, and Swearinger was not flagged - Slive still suspended him for a vicious hit.

Slive should have never stepped-in and taken any action against any player if he was not intending to be consistent from the onset. It opens-up the league to too much criticism in that regard and it puts a target on our backs in OoC games.

Slive has a history of hypocrisy. Remember how he conveniently failed to enforce the SEC's own bylaws in the Newton case just before the Georgia game last year. At that time it looked like AU was the only SEC team that could make it to the BCSNCG (and the money that goes with it for the conference and his own bonuses).

At that time I thought he was a AU homer. But appears he's simply an SEC homer, though as an UGA fan I don't think the Dial hit was even a flag, let alone a suspension.

Murray's helmet recoiled forward and contacted Dial's because Murray's forward momentum was instantly stopped by a guy twice his size.
