At least you place the blame where it belongs, at the feet of Ross Barnett, the former Governor of OUR State (so to speak).

You do realize that the reason Ole Miss was integrated the way it was and when it was had to do with the symbolism of it all, right? With Ole Miss being more prominent and the alma mater (law school at least) of Ross Barnett, the NAACP, Meredith, and Kennedy sent a message to Barnett and, by extension, the entire South by integrating Ole Miss.

It was a ploy, and it worked brilliantly. It got messy because, well, Southern whites at the time (not Ole Miss students per se, but Southern whites in general) were largely anti-integration. You realize that people came from all over, including Mississippi State, to protest Meredith's integration, right? It wasn't an "Ole Miss vs. the United States" deal but, as many have put it, "the last battle of the Civil War." It was truly a "South vs. North," "States vs. Federal Government" type of situation.

Trying to twist such a momentous occasion in the history of our nation into some fodder for a football rivalry does nothing but prove how ignorant, callous, and petty you are. It's pathetic is what it is, Hardy.

And that was, what, four years ago? He's been completely out of trouble since then. Yeah, it's a shame that he did what he did, but he recovered well and has been out of trouble altogether. I commend him for that. Most people frick up and continue to do so. Kennedy hasn't... yet.

And, for real, "Most Racist University?" Ole Miss has one of the higest rates of minority enrollment in the Southeastern Conference.
