I disagree with your take on Golson still. I see him having trouble making throws that require accuracy. He's good with throws that allow receivers to make adjustments to the pass. It could be dangerous if Bama allows some receivers to get some space deeper on the field, but I think that's unlikely.

Edit: Just another note on it, he struggles to hit backs on little flare outs.

MSU was the third game of the season, Golson's third ever start, first ever on the road (that was his second worst completion percentage game, 43.5%, of the season, and worst when he had 10+ attempts). Even the strategy then was much different than recent games. (ND hasn't thrown close to that amount of bubble screens recently, I don't know if it was because they wanted Golson throwing low-risk or if it was something they saw in MSU's D). Hard to use that to indicate Golson's ability today.

ETA: I didn't say Golson's accuracy was great, but "pretty good". I stand by that. I also think putting up a ball in a certain spot where only your WR can get it in a jump ball type of scenario, even if it's not the same as fitting it in a tight window or leading a WR in stride on a 25-yard post, is an underappreciated skill for a QB and a critical part of accuracy, and something Golson is very, very good at.

Golson... by the stats....

suuuuuuuuuuuucks.

Holy Mary look at his Redzone stats...

Inside the opp 20-

11 for 40 for 27.5% completion.

That's got to be some kind of record for shittiness.

ETA: Don't even start looking at the splits on 3rd and distance.

Notre Dame is so fuuucked.
