That is generally how most coaches will coach a "set play" for a last shot with little time left.

You spread the court have you ball handler "free", some may have a little movement, but generally you will have you ball handler take their man too the basket and if they are one on one they take the shot, if they draw a double team it means someone is wide open for the shot.

If you are thinking of it in terms of football, sorry it doesn't work that way at all, the plays are not going to work that way, most of that time in that situation you will have to draw something up on the fly in a situation that matters based on what your opponent has been doing during the game, this is why you see so many late time outs when the games do matter...
