Gus' contract is 5 yrs at $2.3m per year. Look at the "Kirby turned down $2M+" thread. Kirby was offered this same amount. Looks like AU potentially just offered Gus the deal Kirby passed on.
Proud of Kirby for representing himself and Bama well and with class in that process. Glad he's staying. Glad he's getting more money and more responsibility.

I knew when they only blamed Chizik for all of the behavioral issues that they were doing that to justify keeping the old guard. I guess it's just like the people who would rather deal with familiar dysfunction than risking the unknown.
