He saw a cloud of smoke inside the apartment and noticed two males standing in the living room, identified later as 19-year-old Kenneth Ray Marshall and 18-year-old Jordan Trevon Richmond, both freshmen on the football team.

The detective stated in the report that he observed either Marshall or Richmond walk down the hallway. Thinking that he may have been going to destroy evidence, the detective entered the residence, where he found clear plastic baggies on the kitchen table and in the hallway that both contained marijuana.
