Spurrier was announced as the SCAR coach in November of 2004, and Saban didn't bail on LSU until Christmas Day. The job was never open while Spurrier was looking to get back into college.

Damn I guess he screwed up.
Could you imagine spurrier having the talent of miles for the past 7 years.
