When the SEC wins NC games in the new format, will it expand to 8 or more?

As for expanding the playoffs to more than 4 I think yes. 4 teams is a good start, but not the end of it IMO. I have always wanted 8. Others want 16. Not sure the logistics of that many, but it would be cool. This playoff thing is going to be awesome.

I would at least like six... four conference champions (assuming four 16 team super conferences) + two at large bids (highest two BCS rankings that did not get the auto entry from winning the conference). Top two teams get a bye.

anything short of 8 is still BS, and none of this limit on teams from the same conference shite.

I'm all for expansion, as long as Notre Dame gets a contract to be in it every year. /sarcasm

ND should just sack up and join the Big Ten already.

fishwhistler, You remember the excitement of two Saturdays past when the college football world hung on the edge of their seats watching the dramatics unfold in the Baylor/K St. and Oregon/Stanford games? The stakes were humongous.
You can kiss all that goodbye when the playoffs start.

12.

Top 4 get byes. Includes all 0-1 loss teams from majors. Allows good 2 loss teams a chance.

But you have to include Notre Dame if they are bowl eligible, because they are special.

ND is and always will be special, even for us non-believers.

We will get there, and I do agree a cap on each conference rep is BS and will be eliminated.
