Look at our defense. We have no depth. We knew this before the season started. Remember how everyone said that our defensive line was going to get absolutely abused before the season? We had a defensive end in Nealy sliding to tackle. We were and still are thin at safety. Damontre Moore is a good player but no one saw the type of season that he is having, especially after moving from outside backer to defensive end. Sean Porter is not playing his natural position, OLB this year.

Our offense and Johnny get a lot of credit, but our defense has played damn good this year considering the lack of depth. That is called coaching. Mark Snyder has done a hell of a job here.

We also have not had significant or serious injuries this season. People have stayed healthy. Larry Jackson, our strength and conditioning coach came in sick and tired of the bullshite he saw last season: our players gassed and out of shape. That is all coaching. Its a mentality, a way of life. We probably had more talent in last year's team, but they constantly shat the bed in the second half and faltered when faced with adversity. This year we have kept the foot on the pedal, we have maintained leads. We have taken a whole new mentality as a team and as a program. A team reflects its coach's personality. Kevin Sumlin knows what he is doing.

Sumlin did inherit talent from the previous coaching regime, but what he has done with this team this year is remarkable. To possibly win 10 games during the first season in the SEC with new schemes is remarkable. Coaching is more than Xs and Os. When you first come in you need to make sure veteran players buy in to what you are selling. Our upperclassmen bought in real quick. Kevin Sumlin has done a great job in having the players buy in and having them play hard with energy.
