By his 4th season at Michigan State, Saban had several signature wins under his belt. He beat a top 10 Michigan team in his first year, crushed a top 5 Penn State team by 35 points in '97, annihilated a top 10 Notre Dame team by jumping out to a 42-3 halftime lead and beat #1 Ohio State in Columbus in 1998. Name me all the wins Mullen has that compares to those type of wins.

He also had the following terrible losses/ties:

Purdue(4-6-1) 35-35 tie
Wisconsin(4-5-2) 14-45 loss
Louisville(5-6) 20-30 loss
Northwestern(5-7) 17-19 loss
Minnesota(5-6) 18-19 loss

What does Dan Mullen have to compare to those types of bad losses?

What wins does Mullen have as a head coach over a top 10 team?

A coach on the verge of being great should have at least one big win, one major upset over a top opponent in four years. Saban beat a number of really good teams when he was at Michigan State. He showed signs of being able to compete against the big boys. What is Dan Mullen's greatest win at Mississippi State? Beating an 8-5 Florida team in the swamp? I'm not impressed.
