Folks, let's put this in perspective, it was stated in our coaching thread 9 days ago when I said JJ would be retained, many doubted...

I was WRONG about when Chizik firing would be announced, but I still believe he will be. Of course, my information maybe wrong because you have powerful people involved. I will say it comes from a very high and reputable source. I also know that the mood of the assistants (not 100% sure about Chizik) changed from Sunday to Monday.

3 days ago PM said that JJ would make the recommendation at the end of the season.

Today it is in AL.com and everyone goes crazy.

Got some info... (these things are always fluid, but believe this to be solid)

When we lose to UGA, the announcement will be made on Monday that Chizik is stepping down...

JJ is being retained for now for spin control purposes. The President does not want to have too much change at one time.

Others will be involved in the coaching search, but 100% TJ will not be one of them.

Said Jimbo would be interested, but you never know if he would take it.

Said Jay would not be a detriment to hiring a quality coach.

Also said that it now appears that Jay will make a recommendation to Gogue about Chizik's, but that Gogue will have the final word.

If Jay recommends that Chizik keep his job, he's gone too. This is nothing more than political posturing.

Chizik is gone. End of story.
