i don't think saban has coached against many spread teams. i know lsu played west virginia and oregon lately and that helped them learn how to defense it. the main thing is the qb runs. in a traditional offense the qb is not accounted for but in a spread your defense has to. as far as the multiple wr sets, that has been happening for decades. not all spreads are alike.
