When the new playoff system is imposed, will the ranking system be changed if at all? With regard to actual chances of winning it all. is Notre Dame in the mix next year with the same record and schedule?

I actually think the ranking used now will will be totally different in the Playoff. I believe the release of the last rankings before playoffs win or lose you will have teams jumping 2 to 3 spots depending on how people feel the playoffs should go.

Could not agree more, teams with weaker schedules should be judged more harshly.

The SEC isn't going anywhere. I could envision the rankings pitting two SEC teams in the top 4 against each other to prevent all SEC title games.

Aren't they going to have a committee vote the 4 teams in the playoffs? So just because you finish in the top 4 of the polls doesn't mean you will be in the playoff. This shite could end up being more controversial than the BCS.

I would be pissed. The playoffs should split up SEC teams or any same-conference teams as much as possible in order to allow dominant conferences to own the title outright

Absolutely nothing is set in stone yet but likely scenarios:
Regarding selection criteria, from what I've read
there will be no mandated formula. Members can use polls, math formulas, the 'eye' test, whatever they choose.

five conferences -- the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and ACC -- will receive the biggest slices of the revenue.
Starting in 2014, teams must earn a 930 four-year average APR or a 940 average over the most recent two years or they will be penalized a "significant" amount, a source said. Those benchmarks also are required to participate in NCAA championships.

Small selection committee
Though Hancock said the committee might ultimately include a few spots for at-large members to be determined, the "working model" discussed this week would include a representative from each of the 11 Football Bowl Subdivision conferences, plus independents like Notre Dame.
