Well he is kind of acting like one, in what way was my scenario simplistic? I think his view that LSU has the inside track to the auto bid reeks of blatant homerism.

His argument is that LSU will be ranked higher in the BCS, possibly even get an auto bid, LSU has a bigger national draw and travels just as well (for the sake of argument) as the Aggies.
Not to mention LSU beat A&M in CS. You guys have performed well in your first year in the SEC, but you will be hard pressed to jump a SEC and national powerhouse like LSU.
It isn't impossible though, good luck to you.
