I did it. Talking about it on a message board isn't going to cut it. His email is chancellor@utk.edu

Here's my email to him

Dear Chancellor Cheek,

I have been a student at this university for over three years now, and I have been a Vol fan my entire life. However, in recent weeks I have heard a number or rumors that our academic and athletic departments are disagreeing on the direction our football program should go. I hope this is not true, and I hope that both you and Mr. Hart are united in the view that our football program is not headed in the right direction. Football is the life blood of this university and having 55K fans in the stadium like last weekend is an embarrassment to our fan base and our program (I know the announced attendance was 84K but I also know that number is misleading).

Until UT is united in both academics and athletics being successful then this university will continue to be the laughing stock of SEC football. I really hope you read this and understand how unsatisfied both students and donors are with the performance of our team and especially of the coaching staff. Please make the right decision and let our AD hire a big name coach to rejuvenate this program, no matter the cost. We will recover the costs ten fold down the road (Example: Alabama). We cannot afford to have another season like this one.

I'm begging you to read this and make the right decision, or I'm afraid our football program will never recover. This will in turn hurt the university as a whole severely. I love UT and I want it to succeed, so please hire a coach that will bring instant credibility to us. Jon Gruden and Charlie Strong need to be contacted and assured that our program is committed to winning. We cannot hire another "hope he wins" type of coach, we need a proven winner who can recruit and bring us back to prominence. If we keep Dooley, I don't ever see this happening and neither does the majority of your fan base.

Sincerely,

Suck My Dick

Stand up for our program and voice your concerns to the man who is running this shite show

I'm sorry, but that makes you kinda sound like an idiot.

This just sounds very bad and without any financial backing. He is the chancellor of the ENTIRE UNIVERSITY. he has a lot more to think about than just sports.

Also, you offer no support to you statements, and you sign your name SMD??? how do you expect to be taken seriously? If i read this, my response would read something like this:

Ahem

Dear Inappropriate student,

Thank you for your concern regarding the future of UT athletics. I can assure you that the rumors you claim to be hearing are just that. The academic and athletic departments are working together to ensure that the University of Tennessee, as a whole, continues to thrive, improve, and achieve the highest standards for future generations of Vol's students and fans. As much as we love our football, the university is first and foremost a Learning Institution and we do and will continue to strive to achieve academic excellence.

We are fully aware that fans and donors may not be pleased with the current status of the UT football team and we ask for your patience and continued support through these tough years. Steps are being taken to ensure that the Vols return to the top tier of teams in the country, but please recognize that this process cannot happen overnight. I appreciate your recommendations for new coaches, (no matter the cost, as you put it) however, many financial aspects must be taken into consideration before we can fire and hire coaching staffs. It may seem like a simple process from the outside, but I assure you that it is not.

Again, I want to thank you for voicing your concerns, and please know we are committed to doing what is best for the University of Tennessee as a whole.

Sincerely,

Chancellor "arse" Cheek

Well done. And nothing is done without regards to cost. The chancellor can't just stand by and watch the UTAD burn money. I agree that Gruden is the way to go, but Gruden is a long shot, always has been regardless of what message board rumors were floating around.

Why are you on our board? Did you go to UT? Have you been here the last 3 years? I know for a fact that Cheek is fricking with our AD. My dad is on the fricking Chancellor's board. And I didn't sign my name "Suck My Dick." This is a message board, do you really expect me to put my real name on here? I don't know who let you on our board, but go back to the Tiger Rant

Does it really sound like im trolling you? I'm not. I like the Vols and I want to see them succeed again, but I have the luxury of being objective and not having the fan blinders.
