Am I the only Mizzou fan here that seen through Franklins mistakes yesterday to see that this team and coaching staff has taken a big step forward? I understand the verbage of moral wins and it's still not a "W" in the win column, but did anyone else notice these other things yesterday?

Other than Franklins INT's, did anyone notice the lack of mistakes in other areas? Like fumbles, muffed punts, penalties?

Did anyone notice the O-line actually starting to play together rather than on an island? I thoroughly enjoyed watching Copeland psyching himself out on the line before some plays. He was yelling at other lineman before the plays. It's the passion and attitude I have'nt seen in previous games.

Did you notice the passionate running Murphy was executing on run plays and punt returns? The kid wouldn't go down easy. He was light on his feet and just seemed to have his mojo back yesterday.

Did you notice DGB showing up on plays? He caught some balls! He ran for yardage and delivered some hits. Not to mention he was talk'n trash too.

How about Lucas actually catching the ball and driving forward refusing to go down? Like the Lucas of old.

Did you notice the feeling that the coaching staff as a whole, had a handle on things? Talk these past weeks was Pinkel losing his team. Did it look like he has lost his team yesterday? To me, not even close. Yost has been ridiculed for his play calling and schemes. He showed yesterday to me, he can scheme, he can execute a game plan and that if this plan was executed properly yesterday, they should have pulled out a win. Steck is just Steck man. What can you say. Solid D-coach.

I can't remember the game play for play. I know there were probably some mistakes made I didn't notice, but I did notice that yes while we lost the war yesterday, we did win small battles in the war that we were not winnning before in other games against top caliber teams. Florida won that game for two reasons, one we had a cold QB, two they had two big plays. We finaly had ball control. Our D put together 4 quarters of football.

Who here actually thought, we were going to get blown out of the swamp yesterday? I sure did.

Who thought we would only wind up losing by 7 against the #7 team in the country on thier field? Not me, for sure.

Look, the whole point of this thread is to try to get our fan base to also look at the positives of the game yesterday.

I noticed it. The team is still playing hard. That's a credit to Pinkel and the leaders of this team.

No.

I also saw Murphy let the squibb punt roll by him to be downed within the 5, another punt he passed catching to be downed within the 5.

Sasser dropping one of the few catchable balls to begin the game.

No game awareness with 3 seconds left in the half to get the hail mary off.

Line being the line

Field goal getting blocked with people missing their blocks.

James Franklin not able to differentiate friend from foe.

REAL frickING POSITIVE.

That's awesome you put the caveat of Florida as the #7 team, well they sure as shite didn't look like the number 7 team and we still got our asses beat.

I saw it, the 2 things that stuck out the most to me.

1. DGB was not only catching passes, but was running his mouth at the Florida Secondary all day long, even on that fade route in the end zone that was incomplete. That tells me he's getting confident and comfortable. A huge step for a Freshman.

2. The defense didnt break, even after those decimating interceptions. It would have been easy for them to hang their heads and give up big plays, but they stayed true. Lots of pride on that side of the ball.

2a. Murphy looks electric.

Absolutely saw it. That's what made the game so frustrating to me. It was a winnable game. I was saying before the game, if we play a game of field position and limit turnovers, we can win this game because Florida's offense isn't good either. We did a good job for the most part playing the field position game. Even when backed up in our own end, we got a few first downs so that we we did have to punt, we were giving them a longer field. Our defense played stout and held them. That's what makes Franklin's turnovers so frustrating because we did do everything else needed to win the game except avoid the turnovers.

Bro, I think you totally missed the point of the thread.

The point was to try an brighten this place up in here alittle with talking about some positive stuff that happened yesterday instead of moping over all the bad stuff all the time.

I totally understand your point. But look at it this way. While Franklin threw 4 or 5 INT's, would it be fair to say he also extended about the same amount of drives with runs? That was individual effort right? How many plays did he extend with his legs to get first downs?

We have to remember he really has'nt practiced much for prolly at least 3 weeks. You can get rusty. Until he gets some play time and practice, he's going to look and play rusty.

Being positive about 4-5 and not going to a bowl game is called accepting being losers. Nothing wrong with not saying yeah it will be okay!

This isn't a given yet. Unless you've given up. Sounds like you have.

Care to put any cash on that?

I'm confident enough to do so. How about you?

I was giving him credit for extending drives, even when we started out deep in our own end of the field. That game was going to be all about field position and he did a good job working that aspect of the game for the most part. I won't give my thoughts on how he plays even with more practice and reps because I like the idea of talking about the positives that came out of that game. Positives as I see them:

1. May have been Yost's best called game.
2. DGB emerged. I know he had one big play but I'd rather have consistent contribution over the game (with a big play thrown in now and then). Saw him there throughout the game much more yesterday.
3. I didn't pay close attention during the game, but thinking back, I don't remember any devastating penalties.
4. We did move the chains more than in the past.
5. The line, while still not ideal, did provide Franklin more protection.
6. Murphy will be a good one. Him and Josey will be fun to watch next year.
7. Sure there was more.

If you would actually read the post instead of already having this shite made up in your mind, you would know I'm not being positive about a season where we are one game under .500 in the toughest conference in college football the first season with an injury plagued team in a season we have had to play top ranked teams damn near all season.

Pull your head out of whatever shitbowl you got it in and actually read the frick'n post. That would be a positive.

Cash on the fact that you've given up, or cash on making it to the bowl?

I won't bet cash, because I don't think it's allowed here, but I'll wager something else. Are you a beer drinker?

I saw alot of positives out of this game too that has been mentioned. If Franklin came through on any numerous occasions we needed him to, we would of won the game.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but that was truely one of the most pathetic QB performances during crunch time I have ever seen.

Well, then we'll just have to bet on bragging rights on the Internet. Lol.

I'm not going to say I'm 100% positive we'll be playing in Shreveport, but if Franklin can get his head on straight, and the teams plays overall like they did yesterday they should be there.

I get your frustrations, I think we all have felt the same way once or twice this season. At the end of the day, it's just football, go for a stroll on the beach and check out da kine ladies on the shores. You'll feel better.

Err, uh no I was trying to point out some positives about a game we lost. Instead of the usual crap that gets posted behind a loss. Read into it what ever you want, because so far you seem to be the only one that read it the way you seem to see it.

I could give a frick less if you read it or not really. Same about you feeling you waisted your time reading it. Really couldn't care less. It says so much that your actually still posting on this thread that you admittedly care so little about. It also tells me your full of shite. Really.

Do you realize what tv programming is on at 6 am?
