I thought Herbie was better than this. A&M's problem is that beyond "Johnny Football" there is no credible threat. Once a team like Alabama (or LSU) adjusts to his option play, it is over for A&M. LSU demonstrated this fairly well. A&M's problem is that their team around Manziel is not high enough quality to swing in the top tier.
LSU definitely has a quarterback problem in its match-up with Alabama. But that can be overcome if they go to a reliable short passing game mixed with the run and then take some shots deep. LSU will have to execute on offense much more decisively than they have so far this year. LSU's defense matches up better with Alabama's offense. LSU presents Alabama's biggest threat this year.
