Scoop, I agree with your assessment. You type a lot faster than me, btw. Just curious, were you concerned about vascular compromise and avascular necrosis of the femoral head in CJ Mosely's hip dislocation during the NC game?

Vascular compromise is a lot more common in a hip dislocation and femur fractures than most other dislocations and fractures because of the femoral artery.

I think you must always be mindful of vascular compromise but it is not a chief concern due to the fact that we have so much collateral vascularization within the body. The only way to cause a major decrease in blood flow is to injur a major vessel and this would be very rare in an atheletic injury.

With his injury I was more worried that the neck of the femur may have been fractured which can result is vaxcular concerns.

Labral injury to the hip is usually not a problem because the aetabulum is so deep compared to the shoulder.
