The main reason why, boosters. Also Arkansas is located in the FAR north west corner so fans on the east side of the state do not get to come to a game since it's 5-6 hours away for them. LR game gives them only a 2-3 drive instead.

Well then who's the moron who built the school so far away?

The same people that built LSU at Pineville, Alabama at Tuscaloosa, UGA at Athens, Missouri at Columbus, Florida at Gainesville, Michigan at Ann Arbor, Kentucky at Lexington, Ole Miss at Oxford, Grind St. at Starkville, Auburn at Auburn, Cal at Berkeley, Colorado at Boulder, UNC at Chapel Hill.

Fed. Land Grant Act. Rich folks that donated huge tracts of land out from the main cities so the kids will focus on studies and not reefer, whiskey, and wimmens. Rarely will you find a state's main land grant school in the biggest city or state capital.
