1 in 30 Arkansas threads will dissolve into a GSD.

We actually had one a little while back that some really good discussion. The factors that drove the split home games are no longer an influence. The infrastructure to travel to NWA easily from all parts Arkansas is nearly in place, we have the new airport with coast to coast flights, and the great migration has shifted population northwestward.

The Arkansas economy while still largely agrarian based has obviously evolved with the monster that is Wal*Mart. The big money guys in LR (Stephens, Dillard, Ford, and a few attorneys and legislators) are seeing their influence diminish as their companies are sold off or face financial difficulty. Even one of NWA's biggest resident boosters (Lindsey)still has a soft spot for LR games as he was a plantation kid from Forrest City.

I don't think we ever got a public stance from Win Rockefeller, but I assume he pushed for LR games.

It's a tradition that we have to do away with, the stakes are too high not to. I'm good with 1 LR game a year against a decent opponent. I'd really like to play a service academy there since it is called "War Memorial Stadium". I just wish Arkansas wasn't so slow to react the facts of life, but that's how it is, everything moves and responds slower there.
