We got inside the RZ 3 times. Two times combined the run and pass (finishing with the run) to score TD's. The third time we tried to run on 1st down with a QB draw that should have worked but Manziel hesitated, missed his hole, and then ran right into the defender. 2nd Down was a pass play call that LSU defended perfectly and nearly got a sack or an int. It's hard to know if that was Manziel making a bad read or if it was just a bad call. 3rd Down and long you had a great play call for a pass to the end zone to an open receiver but Manziel just couldn't make the throw.

If the standard expected is 100% TD's every time A&M gets to the end zone then absolutely they failed. That's not realistic though.

I agree with the general premise that you must be able to run the ball when you need to. I also agree you must be able to run the ball in the Red Zone. The thing is though that A&M is doing exactly that or at least trying to. On the flip side A&M stopped LSU running 3 times in a row inside the 10 that caused them to have to kick a FG as well. Running the ball in the Red Zone is hardly a guarantee of success. The only thing better than running the ball is being able to run or pass with equal effectiveness and I think that is what A&M is trying to do.

If I see A&M come out and throw the ball 3 times unsuccessfully inside the 20 then I will give your point some credence, that just isn't what is happening.

This is what LSU fans have a problem with. Every team has stopped us running 3 times inside the 10. The problem is the team knows it's coming, and we pack everyone in tight then run into the back of our O-line. Les Miles coaches scared and plays for field goals. That will hurt us when we play good teams.

The thing is, they aren't ever trying to do anything other than what the defense lets them. At that point in the game(the 1st and 10 at the 16), the LSU defense knew it didn't have to protect the pass as much, and A&M was dared to throw.

No. Again, they are trying to do whatever the defense lets them. Kliff's own words. They aren't dictating anything. That is why the run is getting abandoned in the second half against defenses once they figure out how to adjust to the run game and pin their ears back.

1st and 10 at LSU 16 Johnny Manziel rush for 2 yards to the LSU 14.
2nd and 8 at LSU 14 Johnny Manziel pass incomplete.
3rd and 8 at LSU 14 Johnny Manziel pass incomplete to Uzoma Nwachukwu.

Passing 2 out of 3 times and a QB draw(I can't remember if that was a scramble or a draw) isn't what you're describing.
