Actually, I think there's a point here (although I'm admittedly biased.)

Spurrier was on top of the football world at Florida, and his offense was incredibly innovative. But all of that resulted in one national title. He has done a fantastic job at South Carolina, but they have never been close to winning the conference, and they aren't this year either.

Spurrier is an OUTSTANDING coach. But if football ended today, he would be pretty close to Les Miles when measured by accomplishments. At one time, with all those SEC titles he was being compared to Bear Bryant, and at that point in his career, it looked like he may be that elite. But he's not - he's very very good, but his name won't be mentioned among the greats.
