If Driskel had charisma and charm like Tebow, people would be going insane clamoring for them to be number 1. Instead, the media finds it easier to sell the "Nick Saban blue print" dynasty. It is all about what is easy for the writers. Simple as that.

Truth.

That being said, Bama is the clear #1 to me. They have a typical Saban awesome defense and they can both throw and run the ball on the other side. An offense that can control the clock, but also get guys out of the box with throws makes them very tough to beat tied in with that defense.

I just haven't seen a reason yet that Bama is not the best team in the land.

We don't need to fall in to this Skip-Bayless-esque line of hyperbolic opinions about things. "Best team in the land" is relative. They might be, and probably are. But the gap between 1 and 2 and 3 is never as wide as the grand canyon. They look good, but why do we need sports writers that are looking for the easy and sensationalist opinions to attract readers to unanimously agree to that? Alabama will have their chance to win. That is really all that matters. Who gives a frick what the modern journalist thinks?
