Was Tobias Smith actually hurt? Or we're the coaches just resting him and wanting to save him for conference games? I'm happy he will be playing this weekend. Isn't Johnson suppose to come back as well?

Smith has had two serious injuries the latest being his knee surgery last year. He is our best lineman they are just wanting to give him every shot at full recovery.

Not exactly sure but I do know they are being beyond careful with him. Ive talked to him a few times b/t summer and now and he says he feels fine. He also plans on trying to get a 6th year. So taking it easy on him is probably best especially considering he will most likely be back next year

Of course he was hurt. Have you ever been around someone with bad knee problems. There's usually a good bit of pain after games, swelling, etc. They have been avoiding that as much as possible and trying to let him heal more. No need to set him back any if they can help it.

We've been holding him out as a precautionary measure. He could have gone if we had needed him.

He does have some swelling and soreness in his knees, which is typical for those who undergo that surgery(excessive swelling was the primary reason behind DT Shackelford having to get a second surgery).

Guy has had 1 year where he remained fully healthy out of 5. He has had 3 season-ending injuries and another injury that set him back in, I believe, his rsFR year... He's a lock for a 6th yr of eligibility if he applies. People don't realize that he has only started something like 6 games now in his entire career....

That's what I was answering. He may be able to play but he's not 100% and a long game after knee surgeries can set you back some, especially when you are injury prone. He's a good, experienced SEC player. No need to play him if he's still suffering some after practices. Get him a few reps if needed and let him rest until you need him, which is why he played so much in the Auburn game.

You don't think we are going to need him in the UT game?

I fully expect to see him on 3rd and short situations... our best run blocker by far...

I coach 9&10 yr old football with his dad (Tobias' dad has 10 yr old on my team) and Tobias is close to 100% and will get a bunch of snaps Sat. They have been overly cautious with Tobias so that he can play in games like this. Look for MSU to really establish a run game against UT with counters and off tackle runs. MSU plans on controlling the T.O.P. and keeping Bray off the field as much as possible and Tobias is HUGE part of our running game.

Am I the only who's noticed that we haven't done this at all this year?

99.9% of LP's carries have been between the tackles.

Is this more of a testament to him getting fricking jacked in the offseason or vanilla play calling?

Probably both, I've seen him around campus the kid doesn't have an ounce of body fat. Like white Jesus jacked.
