I am torn on the amount of response. The people gave it their all. The first people to go in knew it was a suicide mission but they were trying to protect their loved ones by sacrificing themselves. The Kremlin was the the body that acted ineptly. They tried to cover it up to lessen the severity of it instead of coming out and letting the international community know that they couldn't cope with it

true true. My comment was more for the Gov't trying to hide the fact, not the people that sacrificed themselves. I don't believe that the Russian public ever really knew the dangers of that reactor until years after it failed.


It's ludicris that they still say only 30 deaths can be attributed to the accident.
