JJ is one of my favorite all time Bama players too. He made one of my favorite all time plays. 2002 vs. LSU. He tackled the RB like 3 yards in the backfield and almost took the QB's hand off. The crazy thing was, it wasn't like a draw or counter or something. It was a straight dive. How he got back there so fast is beyond me. Of course he just mauled the RB to boot.

I loved what he said about Fran after he left. Something along the lines of, " you tell tht sawed off Son a bitch if he comes back in Alabama hes got a fight."

Back in that day players walked from the stadium to Mal Moore after the games and use to sign autograps and greet people at the gates after games. I would go see him and Shaud Williams and Charlie Peprah aleays came by our tailgate to get dinner. Charlie gave me one of his wristbands from a game and signed it. Still got it today.
