It's a nice conversation piece you have there but wouldnt' it make more sense to keep that game and money in Starkville rather than Jackson? If you're buying out that game, just keep in the Starkville. Especially after we upgrade the stadium and it will hold more people.

I don't even want to get started on the the elected officials of Jackson, MS. If anything, they should be paying the school to show up.

And playing in Jackson has nothing to do with being a "Big Boy".

Starkville is not an option.

The school is not buying it out, and it would not be part of the season ticket plan. It would be done by private business as a venture to make money. Plus, you want to expand your fanbase. Alot of people dont drive to Starkville- and this would be a chance for people in South Mississippi to see State play.

And people damn sure wont be going to USA and La Tech to watch us

So its better to play in Ruston than in Jackson? I dont follow that logic at all. I see people saying they dont want to go to a game in Jackson- but they have no intention of going to Ruston.

Memphis would probably be a better option over Jackson.

The Liberty Bowl is in a far worse area than the stadium in Jackson.

And why would Memphis investors want a State game? It wont draw shite

Why would we be going to Ruston then? You want to get rid of a home Starkville game and play in Jackson? Convince La Tech they will be the home team in Jackson?

Why in the wide world of sports would we want to play in Jackson?

We play 4 home SEC games. 4 Away games. So instead of having 4 home OOC games(like the Big Boys, you'd rather play one of those in Jackson? Eff that! Eff the city leaders in Jackson too.

How about let's make that one OOC game be somewhere more high profile like Reliant Stadium and against a quality opponent like OK St. rather than La Tech in Jackson. Otherwise, 8 home games in Starkville sound better to me.

What do you not understand about this? It wouldnt be taking anything from Starkville.

We have to go to Ruston in 2016. I am talking about a group of investors buying that home game from them and playing it in Jackson instead. Yes, La Tech would be the "Home" team. La Tech would make about 600K for a home game- investors would pay them 1MM.

Starkville is not part of this equation in any way

My bad, long day man. I see what youre' saying now. Yeah, that would be better than Ruston I suppose.

Forgive me.

But the Vet does suck. You'd have to convince the city to dump some money trying to fix that place up though.

they won't

Look man, it's a good idea, but I don't see any way this ever happens in Jackson. I would love to see it happen though. A state game in the shitty vet would still be better than a game in Ruston/Troy/Mobile

I was at Veterans memorial stadium for the 6A finals last year and the place is a DUMP. Worst pressbox of any 60k seat stadium in America.

Jackson is a great centralized location for MSU fans/alums but the facilities are terrible

The Liberty Bowl is within walking distance of the Cooper-Young neighborhood which was recently named one of the top neighborhoods in America.

You can't be serious. The Liberty Bowl setup is 100x better than the setup in Jackson. When is the last time you've been to the Liberty Bowl? You know they still play a bowl game here every year.

ETA: Slope with the mutha fricking headshot.

We have all been there and are aware that it is a dump. However, it would would be a great atmosphere and it would be packed to capacity.

nobody gives a shite about the pressbox.

So you would rather play in Ruston than driving an hour to hang with all your friends and watch a game in front of 60k? I would love to have a game there if it was possible. The biggest problem would be parking and safety.

And I saw something about using a shuttle from places like the coliseum. That's a stupid idea if i ever heard one.
