I live in New Orleans but I'll be going to the LSU - UF game next weekend. I'm driving up on Friday morning and I'm staying in Lake City.

I'm a huge Braves fan, so I want to catch the Wild Card game somewhere on Friday night. Where's the best place around Gainesville or Lake City to go watch the game, grab something to eat, and maybe drink?

Thanks guys.

You looking for more or less of a college crowd?

I'd say less. I'm still in my early 20s though so the college crowd wouldn't really bother me if that's really the best place to go.

Gator City in Midtown more or less across from the stadium for a more college crowd. Usual sports/college bar. Gets a little rowdy (especially this weekend) after 11. I know a lot of the guys up there look forward to this game every other year because they dig LSU fans.

Mothers is pretty popular, and it is a bit further east down University. Cheap beer. I've never been inside (been on the porch a lot), but they have 20 screens I think inside.

Gators Dockside has a billion screens as well. It is a little further away from campus, but has a lot of seating and decent food for pub grub.

Gator's Sports den is in the Best Western on 39th right near 75. Might be a good place if you want to get away from the crowd and be by 75 to head back to Lake City.

Several people I know have said in all seriousness that they have excellent pancakes.

Side Note - Waylon Jennings' autobiography starts with a Cafe Risque reference.

Mothers is a cool atmosphere and has cheap drinks and food. It is rather small though and has limited seating.

Gators dockside is huge, has plenty of big screens, good bar food, and has a little older crowd.
