They spotted the defending champs 31 points. Outside of the 1st half, especially the 1st quarter, it wasn't too bad. Alabama took advantage of an unprepared and sloppy Michigan team. I don’t think they are as good as people will say they are.

So if you take away that 31 point lead, the two teams were very similar.

I'm pretty sure Bama chilled out a bit after they got a big lead.

Saban has been known to build a lead and then sit back and rely on his defense to finish the game.
