He's the best coach in college football. The end.
75% of being a head coach in college football is evaluating and recruiting elite talent. No one does this better. Hell, Bama has had the #1 recruiting class in the nation 4 out of the last 5 years.
The other 25% is creating an environment of success and managing lots of egos (players and most of all boosters) Saban does this great too.
