That's what my daddy always said. When Bama lost a game, Coach Bryant would start taking all the blame upon himself. He would make those boys feel like crap for losing the game and made them feel like they had beat up on their poor grandfather.

Coach Bryant had poor-mouthing down to an art, reverse psychology; and it usually worked. The very next year after that 14-9 arse-whooping LSU gave us, Bama went 11-1 and were the SEC champions.

In fact, after that year, 1970, Coach Bryant took Bama on a run of a decade with eight 10+ wins (one undefeated), 8 SEC championships, and 3 national championships.
