Tuscaloosa Shooting, 1831 Bar, Up to 16 severe injuries

#BreakingNews Shooting in downtown Tuscaloosa near 1831 bar. At least half dozen injured.
Witnesses say shooter started outside at 4th and 23rd and continued shooting as s/he entered 1831 Bar.
TPD has yet to release more information.
This is disappointing news.

Nah its not close to Campus, it is part of Temerson Square downtown. Since UA has done things to the Strip most of the "good bars" are down there (other than the Houndstooth but your mileage may vary on it)
This reminds of of something that happened just next door to where this shooting takes place back in Summer 09.
Reminds me of what happened right down there to me a couple of years ago. I was at Rhythm and Brews with some of my friends just chilling. One of my friends knows the guy who owns sterling limo cab so we would always get them to take us to the bars and the strip. Anyway we sitting there when this lady named Christina (we were early-mid 20s she was 30) comes up and starts hugging all of us telling us how much she missed us. Well she had been screwing my friend Toby on and off for about a year and had even screwed my friend Josh once. Well this stupid b tch was dumb enough to come up to us as the bar with her damn husband. Now he knew Toby and Josh had screwed her, but what was he to expect when she came up and hugged me and our other friend with us as well? I hadn't touched her in fact we had barely met I just knew her as the whore my buds were doing on the side.
Anyway I ran into the husband outside going back to his car. I got Toby/Josh and we went out the back and called our limo cab to take us to my apartment where we chilled the rest of the night (he knew where they lived). He was a real redneck sob but luckily he was picked up by Tuscaloosa PD that night with an unregistered hand gun.

I always liked the Coppertop...truly awful shite. At least it didn't happen on a weekend or else even more people would have gotten hurt.

Here is what is happening at least in Ttown 83
As a recent grad (2010) I was back this summer visiting my sister (current student) and I noticed a disturbing trend. Pre-tornado the both bar districts were well policed. It seems that post Tornado that became less of a priority. After last summer had a lot of fights on the strip UAPD filled in the gaps in that area. This left Temerson as a no man's land. In fact I asked my sister over a week ago if she ever went out downtown and she said it wasn't safe as it used to be.
Maddox needs to pull his head out of the tornado's arse and stop posting cops on empty lots in alberta and get them doing their jobs again.
