1) Backcounting is definitely still allowed. The language of how it is used has changed, but it's still happening.

2) It's shortsighted and incorrect to think you can only back count for 1 season. You can't just look at the past 2 classes to know your back count number. You have to keep looking back until you signed over 25, then interpolate it out to present day. It's still possible that you could sign well into the 30s.

3) There is no "rule" saying SEC schools can't surpass the 85 scholarship limit. Most of them do. This is oversigning. Taking over 25 is not oversigning. The cutting of players to get back to 85 is the major thing that is nationally frowned upon in the SEC, and is also the reason for the creation of 4 yr scholarships...
