Not entirely true.
Missouri was offered partial membership (like Nebraska). Basically Missouri wouldn't have been a full member of the Big Ten for a few years.
Missouri's administrators went into re-alignment with the mindset of becoming an immediate full member of a conference whether it be the SEC or Big Ten.
Missouri rejected the crap deal that Nebraska accepted.
