The big 10 and Pac 10 will force a compromise to conference champs only or the conference champs in the top 6 option Delany threw out there earlier. The SEC and big 12 don't want the current system anymore. Then all the conference go to 16 teams so there are only 4 conference champs

The idea floated by the Big 10 today was awful. Why even come to the table or drawing board with something so dumb. They will not keep the Rose Bowl as it is. Times are changing, deal with it.

This seems like a decent compromise if there is some sort of stipulation that the top 2 ranked teams get in no matter what, and then if of the remaining 4 ranked schools, 2 are conference champs they should get the nod. I don't have a problem with that set up. There need to be some objective qualifications, otherwise there is really no point in going to the playoff at all.
