People refuse to acknowledge that at that point, the statement may have been factually accurate. However, the situation may have changed and his intentions also.



Not to mention the fact that had he said anything OTHER than that his entire team would have quit on him. Coach's are put in situations like that where they have to make the decision to either A: lie for the greater good of the team they are coaching or B: tell the truth and send the team into a downward spiral that they may not come back from anytime soon.

If you want to blame someone for Saban making that decision, blame the fricktarded reporter for actually believing he would get a factual answer to that question. I guarantee that that reporter left that press conference with the exact same opinion he had 3 seconds before asking the question. They ask those questions for the sole purpose of being able to bring it back up later so they look like some shining superstar for calling them out on it.

The art of journalism is dead and it has been replaced by the TMZ revolution. It's pathetic.
