Why are alumni and attendees so insecure that they need to separate themselves from fans that didn't attend the school they cheer for?

What's even more funny is how booster members that donated large amounts of money get better tickets to bowl games over some while some alums/students are left out in the cold.

My interpretation of a sidewalk fan is someone who claims the team as their own, but knows absolutely nothing about them.

I have friends who are absolute die hard Razorback fans that graduated from UCA, etc. and they know every minute detail of the razorbacks.

I also have friends who graduated from the UofA that know not one damn thing about football, except that there is drinking before and after the game.

I would say that my friends that graduated from the UofA that know nothing about the sport are bigger "sidewalk fans" than my friends who attended a different school that live and breathe Razorback Red.

I noticed the only fanbases that seem to have a disdain for the sidewalk fans in this thread have tiny fanbases like Auburn, and Ole Miss.

A sidewalker isn't going to choose to be a fan of a second place and second rate program in its own state.
