Fallacious logic on Spurrier's part is fallacious.
I see your point but Spurrier did say he couldn't really ever outrecruit Bama. And again, I'm pretty sure he was half-joking.

Oh, I agree. The best (banter-type) jokes, however, are ones which contain an incontrovertible element of truth, or which can't be easily disproven or dismissed.
Spurrier is a master at those. He just didn't live up to his usual standards with this one. Simply put, it was weak when compared to his gems of the past.
