I have no idea what that means. You posted that half the BE schools have baseball teams but since the BE isn't tailored for any one sport then your statement has no qualifying point of reference. Its an odd conference.

I would like to see the BE lose their automatic BCS bowl berth. However, as long as they have the number of teams to qualify I think they will keep their position.

I agree for two specific reasons.

One is market size. Plenty of large markets in the east no one wants to see eliminated from the BCS equation.

Second is sports journalism. a large portion of the sports information going round is generated from eastern sources. ESPN is headquartered in connecticut. The children of the people working there attend schools like UCONN and Syracuse. Heck, it seems like half the people working in sports journalism received their degrees from Syracuse.

Now all that flies out the window if the Big East ever becomes a conference of teams located in Idaho and small Texas towns.
