Also feel like MSU's position may be helped by the cowbell thing, but I've never been there so I don't really know.

It's almost entirely the cow bells. That stadium is tiny.

Or because it's bleacher report and I can pretty much guarantee the guy who wrote it has been to maybe five stadiums in that entire list and used stuff from Wikipedia to judge his rankings.
