I didn't really appreciate Egan's until after I graduated, but I was there in the 90's when thd strip wasn't all commercial. All the bars were shady and dirty, and drugs were plentiful. And you could go out in shorts, a tshirt, and Birkenstocks.

I feel like and old man too in that regard. I realize they are trying to clean up the Strip and even downtown but some of the absolute best Tuscaloosa bars are gone.

I miss The Old Train Station (my favorite bar), The Ivory Tusk, and The Booth (original location)

BTW, anyone remember the downstairs room in the Old Train Station?

Is that the place the fb players hung out at? I kind'a remember going to a bar which you crossed the train tracks to get to?
Some things from that far back are somewhat fuzzy..
