I will not be in a special dorm. How is being smart acting like a wanna be geek? Maybe it is not all it's cracked up to be, but honestly dude everybody that has been in it says it's worth it, and everybody who didnt get accepted says it isnt. So im not going to trust your opinion, sorry bro

Seriously, my friends got out of that pretty quickly. Can't think of one that stayed in it til sophomore year.

FTR, I could have been in Honor's College at AU or Ole Miss (My top 2 choices) next year, but I chose not to because I don't really see any point besides smaller classes, which I don't want, and preferential treatment, which I can do without

They actually get in the good dorm (Stockard), but its on the nerdy floors of Stockard. It was floors 10 and 11 my year, and one of my friends lived up there and had a corner room, which was good for us.

If you're planning on going any farther than undergrad, you should definitely stay in it. It looks pretty good on an application.

You are a senior too? I still havent decided about honors yet but I like the smaller discussion type classes plus first pick of classes.

This is by far the best perk of being in the honors college. Since you get first pick, you can pretty much set your schedule up any way you want to.

Yeah I am. The smaller classes don't appeal to me because I don't like asking questions or participating in class. I just listen. And for AU I'm signed up for the 2nd orientation session, so I should be able to get most of the classes and times I want

If you know the right people at this school, getting your schedule right isn't a problem whatsoever. Get close to the head of your department and trust me it will do wonders on how much easier the department head will make life for you. There was only one class I had trouble getting into in college, and it was a Civil War history class and basically just story time for an hour and a half 2 days a week. Finally forced my way in and it was by far my favorite class I took at Ole Miss.

You seem mad dude. Fwiw I got in everywhere I applied, including LSU, for those saying retake the act.

I think what he is saying is you'll regret wasting your time trying to sugar coat an average college degree. Take full advantage of the good things about going to that school (things you've mentioned in this thread) because Ole Miss is what it is academically.

Yeah but everybody does not get in honors, which is my point after yall tried to insult me. I understand what yall are saying, trust me I have been told this same thing over and over. The whole thing just appeals to me though.
