Let's be honest.
If we counted the clean years of Bama's 'storied' program, you'd have about ...what? a decade or so worth of football over the last century

Well let's see, a century being 100 years that'd put us back to 1911.

1910-1920 hmm, no probations
1920-1930 nope, none here
1930-1940 nada
1940-1950 well there was that whole War thing that cramped our style on the cheating we were supposed to be doing
1950-1960 We stunk, and none
1960-1970 Lots of championships, not a lot of NCAA activity...as in none.
1970-1980 more championships, still missing out on cheating.
1980-1990 drat, Perkins and Curry. We should have hired Dye and gotten an early start on the probations

So that's 8 decades of clean years. You're about 7 decades short of your estimate there sport.

Math not your strong suit?

Although Alabama has been a perennial football powerhouse, with six national championships between 1961 and 1992, these are the first sanctions against the university in any sport. In 1974, the football program was reprimanded for illegal recruiting contacts by Paul (Bear) Bryant, the legendary coach, but no probation or other sanctions were involved.

let's just say those sanctions in the early 90's were harsh for a first timer!!!!
