-Bama is MUCH worse at defending the option than I even remembered. They've stopped it for less than 5 yards I think once so far and that was because Beckham missed his block on Menzie. Ford makes the entire front 7 look like they are pulling a sled.

Saban has six weeks to prepare for the option and the option attack is rarely effective when you have time to prepare for it. Ask Georgia Tech or or even Tom Osborne whose Nebraska teams used to get regularly raked over the coals in big bowl games because their offense always got bottled up. LSU will not move the ball and score points if they use the option with any regularity at all.

Those teams ran the triple option.

LSU runs a speed option. You know, so Alabama actually needs SPEED to stop it. Are your players going to get faster in the next three weeks?

And if you guys spread your linebackers out to try to get more coverage on the perimeter against the option, that will open up our running game up the middle with Hilliard.
