I grew up in that town and graduated with Rogers' sister. For the record, the gas station beating never happened, and there is scant evidence that the hotel thing happened. That rumor took off so fast that the sister was on Facebook begging people to quit passing it along because they were having difficulty having any privacy after the funeral because of all the media that kept contacting them about these stories.
