n all honesty, my diploma would probably come off the wall along with anything else that had Auburn on it. I would be beyond devestated and embarassed.

What confuses me about this situation is the students that are rallying behind Joe Pa. Either they haven't taken the time to read the Grand Jury report or just don't care about the facts.

He KNEW what happened in 02', and yes he reported it to his superior, but WHY were the police never called? He failed majorly at his moral responsibility to protect that child and future children from this monster.

I can not imagine anyone doing that after reading the grand jury report.

Joe Paterno can burn in hell for all i care. He didn't give a frick about the victims then, and his refusal to step down right now says he still doesn't give a frick. It's all about Joe frickin Paterno. Selfish, heartless piece of shite......

It is pretty amazing. They had a writer on ESPN who grew up in the town - he was also on Mike & Mike this morning - and he talked about how the town basically is Penn State, everything is about Penn State - and to them Penn State is about football and Joe Paterno. Again, amazing how so many can't step aside and look at this clearly, but this is a micro look at how blinded people can become from their "local color" they are subjected to their entire life.

I've seen this before first-hand and was amazed at how a group of followers would not even listen to logic and defended what they thought was right, even though it was so clear and presented in a way you would think they would have agreed with the truth. But again - most of them were brought up their entire lives thinking one way and had horse-blinders on they could not take off.

Life itself can be that way for a lot of people. They see things the way they want to see them, the way they are used to seeing them, and want to continue to do so. It' will be interesting to see if this continues to this degree in that community/school.
