I don't know why everyone in this thread is insisting that it's the first thing that's looked at.
So while it won't be the first thing looked at, it will be the first thing that matters as far as sorting out who goes to the seccg.

That is why I think we should forfeit and tell the BCS to fuk off. If we beat LSU and everything was fair then we should be in the National Championship game. However, even if we win that game it will not matter since we will not be playing in the National Championship game.
We win we get the Sugar Bowl
We lose then we get the Cap 1
that is why we need a playoff system teams like baseball can peak after different times of the year.
